How to master SEO in less than 1 hour
SEO is pretty simple when you have a guide.
I have been researching and researching the past month for ways to improve my Seach Engine Optimisation (SEO) organically. I have been really persistent and I am happy to say I have found the golden goose!
It’s pretty simple and straightforward really. However, people tend complicate SEO because they think “it can’t be that easy can it?”
They often gloss over the facts when it comes to SEO and focus more on complex methods and strategies. But I am telling you now that it doesn’t have to be difficult, and in fact it can take you only a couple of days to rank for a keyword. This is either on medium or youtube.
So lets get into it, here is the strategy…
1. Find long tail key words with limited competition
Invest in a SEO tool like SEMrush and look for keywords that people are looking for in low quantities. Stuff like “best clip art sites” and “best investment apps for iphone” are just some ideas that I found. Although thousands of people are looking for these keywords, it is still not saturated. Ranking for these keywords will be fairly easy to do if you develop the right kind of content. Doing reviews, how to articles, or just providing links to websites would be good ideas here…
2. Develop a niche and find an affiliate offer to promote
Narrow down your niche to a certain sub-set of a topic. Avoid large topics such as health, relationships and business and go for things like “how to improve mental health through herbal remedies.” There are less people searching for this topic but is still part of a growing overall trend around health. When you niche down you have a greater chance of ranking. As they say the riches is in the niches.
Once you have brainstormed your niche and become clear, then pick an affiliate offer. You may already have an affiliate offer or you may need to find one. Either way finding an affiliate offer is fairly simple and consists of the following steps:
- Going to google
- Typing in “niche” + “affiliate programs/offers”
- Checking the results for suitable programs
- Picking the best programs to promote
- Getting your affiliate link
Once you have your affiliate offer and your link move onto the next step.
3. Research your SEO optimised article
This part doesn’t have to be complicated. As now you have your keywords, your niche and the affiliate offer. Start by doing research on the topic, watching videos, reading articles and taking notes. Highlight any key points that you find in your research.
Go into as much depth with the research as you can handle. You don’t have to go overboard. All you need to do is find the key points and flesh them out further and so you can create an outline. This is what you should be doing:
- Develop a catchy headline
- Think about a suitable sub heading
- Formulate your key headings/points
- Develop a summary of what you have covered

4. Write your SEO article & do on-page SEO
The next step is to take your keywords/research and develop your content.
Now you can do two things here either video or written content. If you are on a budget then you can do either one. Blogging is another suggestion but it costs some initial money and it takes longer to rank in google for this. So for now I am assuming you have a limited budget — so I suggest you write on medium.

5. Insert your affiliate links/register for partner program
The next step once you have written a detailed how to article is to put in some affiliate links. Less is more here. So resist the urge to insert the link multiple times and only insert it about 1–2 times. You will get traffic to your affiliate links and you will be able to monitor your traffic in your medium dashboard.
Another way you can get monetized is by registering for the medium partner program. You won’t be earning much from this, in fact 80% of medium writers earn $100 or less a month from their articles. Only the top writers will earn from this. So make sure your article is written well to give it the best chance of being monetized.
6. Get paid / monitor results
The next step is to get paid and to monitor results. If your final article turns out to be winner then the chances of it getting ranked is pretty high. Medium gives precedence to articles that provide a lot of value and give readers a lot of great information. So make sure that you provide as much value as you can in your articles. Where possible, get someone to proof read your articles to make sure that they are top quality.

I have given you the simple formula you need to succeed with SEO. It can be as easy or as hard as you make it, so focus on the key points I have made here and do your research.
You have the ability to make money easily if you follow this formula. You do not need money to do get started and it can be fairly simple to start seeing result.
